Short Selling

A trading strategy where you profit from a price decline. You borrow an asset, sell it at the current price, and aim to buy it back later at a lower price. The difference is your profit. Short selling is risky because if the price goes up instead, your losses are theoretically unlimited.

Example

Traders who shorted Bitcoin before the crash profited as the price dropped 30%.
